...and potential New Church Planters
Are you thinking about being a new church planter for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United Sates and/or Canada?
There are many people in desperate need of a relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. New churches are most effective in reaching new people. God will need men and women, lay and ordained, willing to serve in this pioneering ministry in order to answer our prayer. We believe the Holy Spirit is already at work, calling people with a passion for the Gospel and compassion for people to be new church planters. Could you be one of them?
If so, you are now invited to enter into a "spiritual discernment", special time of prayer about God’s direction for how you will use your time, energy, and gifts in Christ’s service. “Discernment” is seeing our lives and circumstances through God’s eyes, thus being able to see more clearly the path God wants us to follow. Discernment is ultimately what God does, as God’s desire and plan are revealed to us through the Holy Spirit. But we offer our effort and intention in doing those things that help us “see” what God is doing and “hear” what God is saying.
Generally the discernment process outlined in our materials takes 30-90 days of talking with and listening to God. At the end of this time, we encourage lay, licensed and ordained Disciples who feel called to this ministry to complete the application and submit it to the New Church Ministry Team. We will then contact you to complete an assessment interview which is another step in the discernment process. Any questions can be directed to our office.

Theological / Biblical Education Grant
To help fund continuing theological/biblical education which will benefit NCPs in establishing their Disciples' congregations.
- ONLY for NCPs in years 3-5 of new church start.
- Maximum of $800.00 per grant
- Applications reviewed quarterly.
- Provided by New Church Ministry, in partnership with Lilly Endowment, Inc.

Evangelism / Skill Development Grant
Available to help NCPs develop their skills in growing new Disciples' congregations.

An opportunity for NCPs to visit another country and inspire new congregations to become Global Mission Partners
- ONLY for NCPs in years 3-5 of new church start
- NCP must pay $500. Grant covers all other travel expenses.

Net Results Magazine Gift
A free two-year subscription to "Net Results" magazine, as well as 10 reprint pacs on subjects of interest to NCP's
- ONLY for NCP's in years 1-2 of new church starts
- Applications reviewed weekly
- Provided by the National Evangelistic Association, in partnership with New Church Ministry.
Health Insurance Program
New congregations can buy health insurance for their pastor at a graduated rate for the first three years of a six year agreement.
