The Barnabas Factor
Acts 11:23-24 says this of Barnabas:
23 When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. 24 He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.
The Role A good Barnabas asks questions to help the protégé (new church planter) to understand where they are.
The Barnabas Process A Barnabas must be willing to :
- Relate – Establish Barnabas relationship and agenda
- Reflect – Discover and explore key issues
- Refocus – Determine priorities and action steps
- Resources – Provide support and encouragement
- Review – Evaluate, celebrate and revise plans
