If so, the New Church Ministry team may have an opportunity for you.
New Church Ministry, a ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), is seeking pastors to assist with the Barnabas Ministry. This ministry is designed to serve new church planters in a support and encouragement role for the first two years of the new planter’s ministry. New Church Ministry is seeking individuals who have the ability to inspire, encourage and strengthen church planters as they fulfill the quest of starting a new ministry. The Barnabas program was created to replace the coaches program. This program not only offers the coaching mechanism to the church planter, but will provide a Barnabas to go along side and serve as a pastor to the new church planter.
The Barnabas ministry name was created in respect to Barnabas in the Bible. The name Barnabas means encourager. Just as Barnabas followed and encouraged new churches, our New Church Ministry is seeking individuals to do the same with our new church planters. A Barnabas will work with up to three new church planters for a period of two years.
